10 Things You Didn’t Know about Jorge Bava

By: Alan | October 20th, 2008

After the great game he had against Necaxa I thought it was only fair that we got to know keeper Jorge Bava a bit better, so here are the top 10 things you didn’t know about him, straight from the horse’s mouth. This is translated from a video he did for Atlas.

  1. His childhood nickname is “Tatin”
  2. His favorite dish are asados
  3. As a kid he used to like kicking the ball at the coaches, once he missed practice due to illness and one of his teammates hit the coach with the ball, and Bava was expelled from the school because the coach thought it was him
  4. He’s the sixth of nine brothers
  5. Whenever he has free time he’s listening to salsa music
  6. After retiring he would like to coach keepers for a team’s reserve team
  7. He enjoys going to the movies with his son, he really likes kid movies
  8. The only food he will not eat is melon
  9. In his debut, he had to borrow his teammates jersey because his was all black and only allowed to be worn by the refs, the jersey had a white design in the back that from far looked like the number one and the commentators joked about it the whole game
  10. He used to drive around without a license a lot and the day he got his license he crashed

    Awesome post!

“10 He used to drive around without a license a lot and the day he got his license he crashed” :D

His first season in Atlas he did pretty well, then it seems he lost his form a little. Right now he’s doing well though.

I think he’s coming through big, especially against Necaxa.
