Atlas 0 – 5 Pachuca: No Shot at the Liguilla

Having finished the first half 0-0 Atlas showed that when you play for a draw you can lose big.
Well, I’m not even going to recap the game, because from Atlas’ point of view, the most that can be said is that they fielded 11 players. The game was played in front of an empty stadium again, due to concerns with swine flu, which means that Atlas fans weren’t able to see their team be destroyed.
Remember all the ways Atlas had to qualify? Well, they chose the hard route, losing. Then Atlas made it worse by allowing 5 goals and scoring none.
Due to all of this, Atlas is out of the liguilla and to make it worse they are out on goal differential. What is the goal differential you ask? -7 What is the goal differential of the teams that qualified? -2 Yeah it was that sort of a race.
It’s another year of waiting for Atlas fans.

This was ridiculous. I know the players are angry about not being payed, but why would anyone want to lose like this?

What a collapse. We’re so inconsistent at the moment. I was all set to go to the game before everything was closed down again. I was gutted at the time but now i’m not so bothered!
