Atlas 1 - 0 Necaxa

By: Alan | October 19th, 2008

Atls vs NecaxaThe three game losing slump is finally over thanks to Edgar Pacheco who scored in the 20th minute and give Atlas the 1-0 lead as visitors over Group 3 opponent Necaxa.

Necaxa is now at the bottom of the Group 3 with 9 points, while Atlas climbs to third with 15. However these are partial results as the weeks play is not officially over, however, group leader San Luis is not only leading the group but also the overall table with 24 points. This makes it harder for Atlas to get into the playoffs but it’s not unthinkable.

Atlas’ win against Necaxa was also due to a great performance by keeper Bava who had an outstanding game. Also, check out the highlights to see ex Atlas player Rodallega take a nice little dive to try and force the penalty.

There is also a great shot of a rat on the field in Aguascalientes, I guess Necaxa is doing so bad even the rats are leaving the stadium. Also, just in case you wanted to know during this time the commentators are discussing about whether it’s in fact a rat or a squirrel.
