Back Again

By: Alan | December 9th, 2008

First, apologies for being so late on all the end of the season news, but finals period was beating me up, badly.

Having said that it’s time we catch up with Bruno Marioni who has been confirmed to be returning to Atlas. He recently had an interview where he talked about his return to Atlas.

What does coming back to Atlas mean to you?
To be honest, it brings me great pleasure. I’m very happy as I was never able to get my return to Atlas off my head, especially because my family wanted to come back very much. Obviously I was very happy when I was with Atlas and that is why I’ve decided to come back.

Everyone is happy to have you back, thoughts?
Honestly I can’t put into words or show how much I wanted to come back. I know people don’t understand my return but very few times in my career have I had a situation that has left such an impression in my heart. This decision was made exclusively the result of the feelings I have for this team, and because the fans and my family wanted me back at Atlas.

Is that why you made sacrifices to return?
The sacrifices are only economical, because that’s all I sacrifice in coming back. I forgot about the economics and thought only about my love for: the game, my family and the fans. All of that lead me to the decision to come back.

How does this compare to your return to Pumas or your debut with Boca Juniors
In my career I never let myself be seduced by feelings, I always tried to be a balanced person but this time I couldn’t be balanced. I’ve always tried to be balanced but in this situation everything had to do with feelings.

What do you say to the fans that remember you and await your return?
I want to thank them for their affection and trust and hopefully they will be able to support our team even more than they normally do. The team needs their support and I hope to give the fans more moments of happiness than they can imagine.
