After the long hiatus following the last game of the 2009 Clausura tournament the team will report for practice on June 4th at Atlas’ Club Colomos training grounds. The team will begin their workouts to get ready for the Apertura 2009 tournament as well as the InterLiga 2009 tournament.
First of all, I’m really excited because Atlas is coming to Boston (which is where I am for the moment). Atlas will be playing hometown MLS squad, New England Revolution in the SuperLiga which determines who gets to represent the FMF in the Copa Libertadores, although this time that’ll be tricky since the FMF has pulled out of all CONCACAF tournaments. The full schedule for the SuperLiga is here.
The team coming back to practice has a few changes. Cristian and Freddy Sanchez are the only two players without a contract, but everyone else should be returning, we hope. Also added to the list of returning players are Ariel Bogado and Gregorio Torres who were on loan for the Clausura tournament.
There has been no official pre-season schedule published so far.
