The game between Atlas and Chivas has always been called the Clasico Tapatio, because both teams play in the same stadium Estadio Jalisco. While the game always carries an extra urgency for victory, the next saga of this rivalry carries more: Interliga advancement.

All teams in Group B of the Interliga tournament, used to determine classification into the Copa Libertadores, are tied at 1 point. This makes the following game that more important. Players and coaches have all stressed the importance of this game not only for the tournament but for hopes of playing in the Libertadores. Atlas, who won the Interliga last year, and are led by captain Bruno Marioni are all set on victory today.
