End of the Season Changes
By: Alan | December 9th, 2008
With the end of the season, Atlas has started making moves in personnel and gotten busy in the transfer market.
Also, posted now is their schedule of preparation games before the start of the next season and InterLiga.
First big name out in the transfer market is Ulises Mendivil who will be on loan for one year with Pachuca starting with the InterLiga. Mendivil is a solid forward but at Atlas there is little playing room for him since he has to share with Bogado, Bottinelli, and Gonzalo Vargas.
In other news, guess who came crawling back? That’s right El Barullo, Bruno Marioni, will be coming back to Atlas once he finishes up the Club World Cup with Pachuca. Fans are still split on the Marioni issue, he left the club in a kind of underhanded way but you can’t deny he helped Atlas get as far in the Libertadores last year as they did. I however, will not forgive him until he wins us some silverware.
Lastly, there are rumors that Bogado might be headed to another Mexican team for the Clausura tournament, however these seem to be just rumors as Bogado himself stated that “no one has told me anything” either he’s telling the truth or he’s looking to pull a Marioni on the team.
Pre-Season Schedule
Dec 17 – Dorados @ Home
Dec 20 – Socio Aguila @ Home
Dec 27 – America @ Chihuahua
Dec 30 – Monarcas @ Morelia.
Jan 3 – Tigres (InterLiga)
