Oh Captain My Captain

By: Alan | July 8th, 2008

Daniel Colotto has been named the new captain for Atlas for the Apertura 2008 tournament.

The defender said he feels proud and that it is a nice responsibility. He hopes that Atlas can meet the expectations and hopes for a good tournament.

Colotto has played 22 games for Atlas, of which he started in 21 and played all 90 minutes in 19. He’s a pretty reliable defender, accumulating only 3 yellow cards and 1 red with Atlas.

The season is starting soon, and I’m excited to see the new squad play. I don’t have much to say about Colotto’s captaincy because I don’t really think a captain does anything more than choose between heads or tails.

Here’s hoping to a season that ends with silverware.

I’m glad he’s matured and acting like a professional again. There were times I wondered why this brat was even playing, but he saw the potential in the team and decided to remember how to play again.

It’s funny you mention that. He said that the team looks good on and off the team, I guess that’s his way of saying he’s changed.
