Players Leaving Atlas
By: Alan | May 26th, 2008
Keeper Mario Rodriguez and midfielder Roberto Vargas are the first players to be leaving Atlas during the off season. Both players were on loan, Rodriguez from Tecos and Vargas from Monarcas.
Rodriguez, “el presidente”, was the starting keeper for Atlas before the arrival of Bava who has taken the reigns ever since his acquisition from Club Libertad.
Other players who may be on the way out are Marioni and Mendivil, whose contracts end on the 31st of May. The team is confident that they will get a contract extension from Bruno Marioni, as well as from Ulises Mendivil.
As always I will make the news available here as soon as the team releases an official notice on the future of both of these men.

Is anyone looking at either Marioni or Mendivil from Europe?

There hasn’t been much talk about what offers Mendivil has received. As for Marioni I know that the MLS is interested in acquiring him. Atlas made their final offer to him and its now up to him wether he stays in Atlas.
