The Dream is Over
By: Alan | November 6th, 2008
After losing 4-0 to Toluca Atlas is out of the race for the Liguilla.
The upsetting part is not that they lost, okay it is, but that they lost that bad, I thought that the game against Santos was an indication of the team’s commitment to getting to la Liguilla, but unfortunately the dream has ended before the season did.
All is not lost though, coach Franco can now take the rest of the season to experiment with the lineup and have new players take on big roles. Achucarro has been listed as a started for next week’s game, indicating that indeed coach Franco will now take the rest of the season to know his team, something he was unable to do since he was thrown into the team late in the game and tried to salvage a season.
Atlas will play in the Inter Liga for a spot in the Copa Libertadores, so it’s not like this is the end of the world, however, I can’t help but feel that this time around thinking about next season came too soon.

i was heartbroken at this result. hopefully the end of this season wont bring a shitload of lineup changes like it has consistently the last couple years, i think the team we have right now really has potential to do something big
