Tigers, Oh My!

By: Alan | August 11th, 2008

Atlas’ first trip out of el Jalisco didn’t go as well as they hoped. Atlas received their second loss of the season, 3-0 with goals by Blás Pérez, Francisco Fonseca, and Pedro Benitez.

Coach Brindisi moved the lineup around for this game: Jorge Bava started at keeper, Hugo Ayala was moved up to starter, and up front was the duo of Mauricio Romero and Ariel Bogado. However, all of this was for naught, since Atlas was unable to beat el conejo Perez once.

However, it is important to take into consideration that Atlas at the time has a very limiting roster, due to injuries and expulsions, which explains the changes in the lineup for coach Brindisi. However, Gonzalo Vargas and Mendivil seem to be moving ahead with their rehab well and might be able to play next week. This is important since for the second week in a row Atlas saw a player expelled, this time Mauricio Romero.

Atlas now sits in group 3 with only three points and they will meet San Luis in week 4.
