Too Little, Too Late?

By: Alan | November 9th, 2008

Atlas has decided to make this interesting, after losing last week in devastating fashion 4-0 to Toluca, they came out of week 16 with a 2-1 over Morelia.

Atlas currently sits in fourth place with 21 points in third place. This means that two miracles, coupled with the alignment of the planets, and the discovery of the missing link must all occur for Atlas to enter the playoffs, but like my roomate likes to say “so you’re telling me there’s a chance”

Notable in the Morelia game was the debut of 16 year old defender Cesar Ibañez who was noticed during an inter-squad game (between first division and Primera A teams) has impressed enough people to be granted a spot on the first division team.

Also, making news is the return of Achucarro, who reminded us how good he was before the injury by scoring Atlas’ first goal in the 58th minute.

As stated before, this win gives Atlas only a snowball’s chance in hell, but hey, a chance’s a chance.
