When the Saint’s Come Marching In…

By: Alan | April 14th, 2008

Atlas vs. Santos I stared at the computer screen for a good twenty minutes trying to figure out how I could put a positive spin on Atlas’ crushing defeat. I was going to go with the old, “you learn more from defeat” in which case Atlas would be Einstein, but it’s been overdone. I also thought of blaming a witch doctor or some sort of flu, but in the end the story is the same; Atlas was (insert the most vulgar word you know)… repeatedly.

What is surprising is that even after losing 6-1 to Santos, Atlas is still only two points away from the #2 spot in the group. With three games left in the season, Atlas can still take the number two spot and qualify for the playoffs. FIFA 08 made a better prediction than I did, but I think I’ll have an advantage over FIFA 08 after I preview Atlas’ game against Tigres on the 19th.

Lowlights:
